Adam Poole – CSV Avon Training
CSV Avon Training provides help and support to find employment and training, explore career options, or investigate self-employment as a work option.
This support can be a one off, a one to one advice session or a more intensive programme of support for up to 26 weeks.
Adam runs an appointment and drop in service at Westonworks on Tuesdays.
Laura Knight – North Somerset Community Learning Service
North Somerset Community Learning Service brings together residents, community-based organisations and learning providers to engage in community and family learning opportunities. Subjects covered include beginners IT, self-defence and confidence building. Crèche facilities and transport are provided. Laura provides information and advice on learning and work as part of the nextstep service and specialises in CVs.
Laura runs an appointment based service at Westonworks on Tuesdays.
Angie Farr – Tomorrows People
Angie works on the Working Communities Programme which is open to anyone who is unemployed.
They offer tailored support such as advice on training, benefits and tax credits, introductions to employers, help with writing a CV and interview techniques, and confidence building.
Angie has an appointment based service at Westonworks on Wednesdays.
Irene Branagan – Ready4Work
North Somerset Council Ready4Work scheme aims to help people to get back to work or to start their own business. Courses include catering and hospitality, construction, customer service, engineering and vehicle maintenance, health and social care, IT, retail and sales, and warehousing.
The scheme can also provide a job grant of £300 for participants.
Irene is at Westonworks on Tuesday afternoons for appointments and a drop in service.
Sally Bowman – The Brandon Trust
The Brandon Trust offers people with learning disabilities the chance to find a job that matches their aspirations and skills, and provides support to complete a work profile, interview and job coaching.
Sally runs a drop in and appointments service at Westonworks on Monday afternoons.
Teresa Scotchmer, Fran Rawlings – Working Links
Working Links runs the Pathways to Work scheme which provides one-to-one support to help get people back to work. They can access training and work experience
pportunities, offer advice on health conditions, provide a ‘better off in
work’ benefits calculation, and assess the possibility of a ‘return to work credit’.
Working Links consultants run an appointments service at westonworks between Monday and Thursday.
