A surgery is being held at westonworks on Thursday 10th June 2010, between 2 – 4pm, where you will be able to find out more about more about the different career routes and qualifications in childcare, funding for training and help to return to work.

On 3rd March, Diane the decorator from Connaught will be at westonworks to answer questions about a career in painting and decorating. She’ll be in between 10am and 12 noon.

Aimed at anyone interested in a job/career in painting and decoration or finding out about working for Connaught.

Connaught is one of the largest construction/maintenance companies in the UK and has a contract with NS Housing for major works.

The event . . . → Read More: Official Launch of Westonworks]]> Westonworks officially launched by Chris Knight, President of the Chamber of Commerce on Friday 20th November in a ceremony which was attended by the Chairman of the Council, Mayor, and many others representing statutory, voluntary and learning/work agencies from across North Somerset.  As it was Children in Need Day, Pudsey also put in an appearance!

The event was a great success with lots of networking and agencies keen to refer people they are working with to Westonworks for help in getting back to work, volunteering opportunities and help in finding training.

On this page we will be posting news and events related to Westonworks One Stop Skills and Job Shop.

October saw the opening of the shop on the Bournville Estate in Weston super Mare and since then we have seen quite a number of people coming through the door wanting to talk to various advisers with their needs. In the shop we can offer help with application forms, careers advice, getting work experience, volunteering – all sorts of things.

We have different advisers from various specialist organisations working in the shop. Our services are free of charge and anyone over the age of 18 can use our service.

In the shop we have 3 computers which are linked up to the Library network, these are available to use to support you with your needs, to search for jobs, courses or to print off application forms or CV’s.
